The Gelso apartment , measuring  90 sq.m is a very typical old style Tuscan apartment . It is an ideal accommodation for families and couples thanks to the ample sitting room and ample chambers. It is on 2 levels : first floor with a double bedroom, spacious living room with 2 sofas, kitchen ,double bedroom with original restored Tuscan forniture and big bathroom with shower. On second floor characteristic attic bedroom ,very spacius and bright with 2/3 single beds. In front of the apartment ' entrance ( groundfloor)  ,outdoor area with table and chairs to seat. 

The Gelso apartment is located in the oldest part of the farm building. Many centuries ago the farms were not built entirely in a single moment, but rather, they started from a solid central part which would later be expanded according to future needs (birth of children, union of several families). This part of the house was the first to be inhabited and for this reason it enjoys completely unique characteristics. The beautiful exposed beams that run on all ceilings, at least 300 years old, give a very special character to this accommodation. The walls, up to 5 meters thick, ensure a cooler temperature in summer and a more prolonged maintenance of heat in winter.

This was a fantastic location to explore so many great places (Siena, Florence, Volterra etc). A big bonus to be able to have short drive or 20 min walk to nearby village which had great restaurants and evening events. The pool was great with just enough other families to make it fun, but not too overcrowded. Only downside was beds could do with being updated. Very helpful hosts.

We had a really great stay at Podere Monte for two weeks in August / September 2017. The apartment was comfortable, clean and reasonably well equipped the pool area is great and very spacious. The position is equally great with good access to all the famous hill towns near Siena and also in Chianti.
The owners are really friendly, nice and pleasant with just the right amount of contact you require.
Casole d'Elsa is a lovely town within a 20 minute walk of the apartments and has some really good restaurants.
Overall we felt the apartments were great value for money offering a great base for exploring or just relaxing.

I have stayed at Podere Monti on two separate occasions and I hope we we can return soon. Frederica and her family were excellent hosts and were always very helpful if we needed anything. Our accommodation was lovely on both occasions with plenty of outside space. The pool was excellent, I especially like to swim early morning and this is my favourite memory of staying here, the pool had an amazing view all around of the beautiful Tuscan countryside and I always had the pool to myself. Podere Monti is situated just outside the delightful small town of Casole which was a pleasant 15-20 min walk or few mins in the car. Casole is a friendly, non touristy hill top town, we love it. It us an excellent base for exploring Tuscan villages and towns, with San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena and many more nearby!
We will definitely be going back for another holiday!
